When odd or even parity mode is selected, all data is sent as nine bits. The first
eight bits are data and the 9th bit is parity. Even and odd parity is selected when the
MODE bits are set to
‘0011’
and
‘0010’, respectively. Parity is automatically
determined by the module and inserted in the serial data stream.
