This section does not apply to the LIN mode, which handles checksums
automatically.
The transmit and receive checksum adders are enabled when the
C0EN bit is set. When enabled, the adders accumulate every byte that is transmitted or
received. The accumulated sum includes the carry of the addition. Software is
responsible for clearing the checksum registers before a transaction and performing the
check at the end of the transaction.
The following examples illustrate how the checksum registers could be used
in the Asynchronous modes.
